Brake Buddy users

Which model do you use, Classic or Select? If Select, do you find the ability to select setting a worthwhile feature?

Classic, but it is a 2002 model and has been back to Brake Buddy twice for repairs. The last time it was returned it sounds anemic when pressurizing, but does work.

I used a Vantage set to operate on hard stops only. Never changed nor needed to change that setting.

Ours is old also, probably makes it a Classic (white). It does have a sensitivity adjustment that I set about mid-point or lower.

My theory is that I only want the Brake Buddy to engage on a panic stop, normal stops aren't needed. For my use, proportional braking is useless. Ours has only engaged a couple of times in 60K miles of towing, both times I was glad I had it.

We have a very old BB from 2000 (classic?) that works very well in the quick stop mode and has never failed us! It has aided us successfully when every foot of stopping was reqyired!

Classic also that still works well. I did replace the cigarette plug end. Otherwise as good as new.

I bought my Brake Buddy in 1999 and have used it 115,000 towing. It failed one time and BB replaced the circuit board for $35. I use the middle setting on senitivity for panic stop braking.
