I hooked my Brake Buddy Vantage up for the first time and everything was fine until hooking up the breakaway unit. When I did it applied the brakes on full and would not let up. Before calling the company, any ideas? The pin was in, pulled it and replaced it and no help....

Disconnect power from it and hit the air purge release, it should reset.

It's possible the switch or the wiring to it is defective. You can check the switch by simply bypassing it, i.e. remove the switch and see if the breakaway still locks up without it being present. You can short the wires together to simulate closing the circuit via the switch.

Brake Buddy has replaced the breakaway switch and everything works now. I have to give it to Brake Buddy, they stepped right up and after a few questions, shipped me out a replacement part right away. I had the replacement part TWO DAYS after my initial email telling them something was wrong with my set up. Impressive!

Sorry didnt read the post the right way, thought the unit locked up, I just re-read the OP. I agree with RVroamer the switch was bad. Glad to hear you got it fixed.

Me, too. Minor plug-in part, must have been shipped instantly. Brake Buddy is great to work with.
