Hello again...we have our appointment to have the base plate and brakes done on our CRV. However, I have been reading more on the brake systems. You have suggested SMI but I really had not done much research on these. We do have a brand new brake buddy that we purchased from a friend already. However, I wonder if I should sell that and purchase the SMI DUO for the easier application. Can anyone jump in and give me some pointers on this. I have appt. Thurs. at Hitching Post Ocala to have done...thanks everyone...Judi

Never had a Brake Buddy...have a friend near Gainesville FL that has one....he doesn't care for it... have to store it then hook it up when towing... I had the Stay in Play DUO installed in our Ford Edge along with a Blue OX Advanta XL... perfect setup... just plug it in and go...

Thanks Jerzeyjoe, I have been checking the Stay In Play a little more. I think that it would be easier for both my husband and me to hook up. I think I will call tomorrow and see if I can get one. I can always sell the Brake Buddy as it has never been out of the box. We also have the Blue Ox Advanta. Thanks for the info...it sure looks easier to have under the hood with a switch than to put in the car and out each time...we will see.

Peter Schuck is the fellow to talk to about dealers who install them in your neck of the woods... you can call email him at info@smibrake.com

I had Tom Scaheffer's RV in Shoemakersville, PA install mine and couldn't be happier with the service...

For what it is worth, we have a Brake Buddy that we have had for about 8 years and been using it a fair amount. We have used it with 3 different toweds. The ease of switching from one vehicle to another was/is a factor to consider. The instalation sure is no big deal and must take us all of aless than 5 minutes without any rushing.

Do what you want of course just wanted to give you another view.
