Is anybody aware of a toad braking system that is controlled by a standard Prodigy type brake controller? Looking to be able to tow a Jeep behind the motorhome as well as work trucks, all of which have brake controllers.
Thanks,
Alan

I'm not aware of any toad brake that you can control with a Prodigy controller. Most, if not all, trailer brake controllers like the Prodigy are designed to be used with electric (magnetic) brakes found on trailers. Since toads have hydraulic brakes, toad brake systems either tap into the toad's vacuum line to actuate the toad's hydraulic brakes and/or use a compressor to actuate an arm to push on the toad's break pedal.

Yeah, that's my understanding as well, I just figured somebody would have designed a system that would take that electronic signal and then apply it to the hydraulic toad system. But perhaps there just isn't the demand for that type of setup. In fact, the more I look into it, looks like the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO actually accomplishes what I want to do and then some, in that it doesn't require a brake controller or connections of any kind. Anybody have any experience with that system? Does it work well?
Thanks,
Alan

I have one. It seems to work fine. I like that there is nothing to install or remove when you use it. Just flip a switch. See my install pics at http://www.flickr.com/photos/k...s/72157607575669503/
