Well little history I have a 2009 Georgie Boy CruiseMaster on a workhorse frame. Well RV was equiped with 7 prong plug from factory which I assumed was pre-wired for brakes, No problem worst case the place I took it to would have to run brake wire.

Well first mistake never asked how much it would be, had asked the question at a RV show figured worst case 2-300.00 with brake controller.

Well go to discount hitch to pick up, bill was over 700.00... word to the wise, get a written quote.

That is exactly what happened to me this weekend. My paperwork, on my Jeep, says 'factory tow package' and it has the factory 7-prong plug as well. However, I found out, that it's not wired to anything and CW says it is RARE to find any factory tow pkg that is.

In my blonde opinion, that IS NOT a factory tow package! Cost me twice as much as I had been expecting.]

So, I feel your pain!

Sheila

Well I kinda disagree with that comment I have a 2002 Ford Truck which when I added the brake controler just pluged it in and that was back in 02.

Truthfully I was more bothered by the cost and the fact they are saying it took them 6 hours to run one wire up front.

I sent a email to them and was supprised that someone is calling me in the morning, if nothing else I hope they reassure me that it shouldn't take someone who knows what they are doing 6 hours to wire a brake controler even if they had to do it from start to finish, considering all they did was splice into brake lead at the 7 way plug and ran that lead up thru the frame to front.

Will keep the post updated, on how it works out.
