Just when I thought I had it all figured out, new information arises. I'm going to have to look at my set up.

Me too Gary, but that makes sense to me!

I want the break-away to stop the TOAD anytime the TOAD becomes DETACHED from the MH: when the receiver becomes disconnected from the MH; when the towbar and safety chains/cables break at the same time; or when the TOAD becomes disconnected from the baseplate. If the TOAD is connected, I can stop it - damage to the TOAD or MH is unimportant. When the TOAD is a missle, any life taken is irreplaceable. Safety's main concern is life then property. Please note, attaching any break-away to any part of the receiver is a no-no. It should be independently connected to another part of the MH that is not associated with the towing system. Any instructions by any manufacturer that states otherwise has a fool for a technical writer and a very deep lawyer pool. JM2...

I just installed the break-away yesterday. I looked for a spot on the frame to wrap the cable to, but the cable was to short. I ended up putting it on the cross-bar behind the receiver. I could not find any other location to attach it to the frame and still look like the details shown in the instructions. I have not done the final adjustments yet.

Just read the instructions provided. Note that the attachment point is to the MH FRAME not the receiver. In the illustration it shows a loop of cable attached to the frame and the RB cable attached to this loop. That loop of cable or a length of cable with a loop on the end is custom to your MH. Please rethink our MH installation. JM2...
