Have always loved the little Bronco II. Put 250,000 miles on a 1985. Am looking at another to use as a 4 down toad. It is an automatic, 4x4, V-6 . Are there any inherent problems with this vehicle as a toad. Of course I would add aux. brake system just as a safety feature,. Help me figure this out. Thanks

I understand the problem with towing the Bronco 2 4 down is the need to install unlockable hubs on the front wheels.
I had a 1990 Bronco 2 and loved it, it had a stick transmission and push button 4WD. We had 190K on it when the 4WD broke in the middle of winter. Due to the cost of repair we decided to buy a Jeep Cherokee with the idea of having a tow vehicle.
We've had two Cherokees now and like them but still miss the Bronco 2.

Magumba,
Thanks for the response. Have found a lot of other options. Will probably choose something relatively new to avoid the constant repairs. I'm past the fix it stage. More in the go go go stage of life. Not in a big hurry, just not looking for long term projects. Have recently traded for a new Holiday Rambler and all ready have more trips planned. Wife said the only way she would want a new coach was " if we used it more often". I reluctantly agreed.

Glad to hear you have a new camper. We bought an 03 Itasca Suncruiser in September. We're hoping to travel a lot more too.

You could also look at a Ford Explorer, the early models are basiclly Bronco II's
Camp happy.
