Buick Enclave transmission problem

I've been towing my 2010 Enclave since new pulling the required fuses. Lately when arriving and disconnecting I have to raise RPM to 3000 or so to get it move. Driving around the campground a little corrects the problem. Today I only towed it 80 miles and the same thing happened. I elected to not drive it until after lunch at which time the transmission was fine. I'm confused. Fluid level is correct. I've towed the car approx. 40,000 miles.
Any ideas? Am I on the verge of a trans. failure?

When was the last time the fluid was changed? I don't mean just the pan drained, but a full power flush and replacement of fluid. It sounds like the fluid is breaking down and foaming while being towed.

It sure is acting like a foaming issue could be the problem.
Thanks, I'll pursue possibility.

Are you cheating on the speed limit of 65mph? Foaming is why there is a speed restriction.

Thanks for the additional ideas. I only occasionally go over 65. Yesterday I definitely didn't for the 80 mile journey. I have tried turning it off and restarting to no avail. I'm going to pursue the possible foaming issue when we get home.
