That should be June 2014. (Don't know how I fat-fingered the date that badly)

Hi,
Is anything happening between you and Ford? I am towing a 2014 C-Max that I bought in Feb 2014 (no doubt built during the affected time), and I'd like to hear about your outcome. I don't seem to have the noises they describe in CSP 14B07, Transmission Inspection and Repair. Did you have any indications like those described before your trans blew?

The noise started abruptly. It was OK at the previous campground. I drove it around for 3 days before I towed it 350 miles to St. Louis. As soon as I unloaded and went for a drive I knew something was very wrong.

The car is at the dealer in St. Louis being repaired but so far Ford has refused to cover it under warranty - I will pay about $5,800 out of pocket. I have initiated a claim with the BBB arbitration as the Ford warranty requires, but I can't finalize it until I have the repair bills and incidental expenses. It probably will be a drawn-out deal. If I don't get any satisfaction through BBB, I will contact Dewy, Cheatem and Howe and go the legal route.

Did you meet with the Ford Service & Parts District Manager? Also file a complaint with the state AG office. The BBB won't do jack s**t, they are Ford's bought and paid puppet. I know from working for another car manufacturer the BBB is worthless. The only agency that auto manufacturers respect is the states AG office. They don't want to get into
an argument with them. After that it's time to lawyer up.

That's why I am especially PO'ed at Ford, knowing they are aware of this issue.

THANK YOU for the suggestion to contact the state AG.

I contacted the Missouri AG right after you suggested it and within a week I got a call from someone at ford in Dearborn. Long story short, after a few weeks of back and forth, Ford agreed the failure is warrantable and paid for the transmission replacement - $6,000, - well as $700 of rental car expense.

Lou Fusz, the dealer that did the repairs did a fantastic job. Done right the first time, everything works as it should. The service writer and manager spent their fair share of time fighting with Ford on my behalf also.

Someone in our group has lost there trans 2 times then traded it in. They had to fight Ford to get it repaired. Ford told them to run the trans on the low side on oil, right. They went with a new Jeep. I love our Ford Edge Sport.
