Cadillac XT5 for flat towing

Does anyone know if the Cadillac XT5 which replaces the towable XTS is towable? I'm looking to replace a 2014 Jeep Cherokee with Demco hitch and Air Force One braking system if anyone wants to buy it. The Cherokee ride does not help my bad neck.

The XT5 will not be flat towable at all, I don't believe. Might look at the Lincoln MKX as an alternative to the XT5

I went looking for one last week and the salesman pulled the user manual. It is NOT flat towable according to that manual. So the Cadillac line, at least 2017 XT5, that replaces the 2016 XTS, is no longer a choice, I did not check on the Escalade.

Thanks to both of you. I'm very disappointed with Cadillac. The MKX is not towable, the manual is wrong. Choices are becoming very limited.

I might as well pull my Yukon. I'm really disappointed with Jeep in general.

The MKX is towable...the MKC is not.

I read that the book is wrong and heard from a person who blew the transmission which was covered because the manual said it was towable but Lincoln said no. I also contacted

Don't know what book you're referring to. I was looking at buying a 2016 MKX and I have a sheet printed out from Lincoln/Ford that tells which cars are towable and what the procedures are to do so. But, you have to go with what you feel is right.

It appears the 8-speed auto (FWD or AWD) that replaces the 6-speed is not towable. That may affect other models too as their transmissions get "upgraded" to the 8-speed. I think the GMC Acadia & Buick Enclave & Chevy Traverse still have the 6-speed with their 3.6L V6, though.

Just goes to show you, FMCA towing guide AND the manufacturer need to be checked. The towing guide shows that Lincoln does have models that can be towed.
