I tow a Ram 1500. It doesn't weigh 6600 lbs. Mine is a 2010 4x4 and with a full tank of gasoline it weighs 5760 with 150 pound me in it! It does help to be a 4x4 with the electric neutral as the steering doesn't lock. So just follow the instructions in the manual putit in park and lock the doors. Key in your pocket. My DP is a 2010 Fleetwood Discovery LE with a 10,000 pound hitch. I did lose 1/2 mile per gallon when I got rid of my 3300 pound HHR. I now average over the last 25,000 miles 7.4 MPG.
I have toad according to manual with key in and accessory on. Long day and battery dead. So I tried to check if I could lock steering with key out and I couldn`t. So does that mean our steering doesn`t lock so no need for key in and on accessory? I tried towing with key out after that and it towed without locking up.Someone said they towed with key out and all fine untill the toad hit a curb on a sharp turn and the wheel was forced into a lock and caused tire and suspension damage.Some say to disable the steering lock by having it removed or get a Toad Charge unit to keep the toads battery charged by the coaches alt. and chassis batts.
