Unhappy Car baseplates

Anyone have experience with installing Blue Ox baseplate for 1997 Pontiac Sunfire and/or differences with 1997 Chev. Cavalier baseplate. I have Cavalier baseplate and figured that since both cars are built on same platform that it should fit my Sunfire, possibly with some minor adjustments but Blue Ox says "No". Thanks.

A belated , Welcome to iRV2.
First post I see.
JMHO: Blue Ox, would not say it would fit ; if it required any modifications ; no matter how slight, liability thing.
I have noticed that since , I did my install, that Blue Ox is even recommending secondary safety cables from the suspension K frame around the base plate, that attaches to the unit body, on my application.

I did install this baseplate after all. Yes it did fit. I went to auto wreckers and took pix of both vehicles in a "bare" state and they are built on same platform, only the front fascia is different. I had to cut holes in air dam and front fascia. Took me almost 3 days but then I'm a slow "Saturday mechanic".
