Car dolly problem

Hi looking for some help. I have my car on the dolly and 1 side the right ramp is scrapping the ground. The pin is in to hold the dolly up. Not sure what to do. Any suggestions, I am still 6 hours ride time from home.
Thanks,
Larry g17

What brand/model dolly? We have a Demco KK-460 that we don't use anymore so I'm familiar with them, not so much others.

Yeah, really need brand of dolly, my dolly has the pin that controls the whole carrier, trying to think of yours and why one ramp is down and the other is up.

Can you take the ramp that is scraping the ground off??

Without knowing what brand dolly you have, I can think of two things. Are the tires the same size? Do you need to lower the hitch height so the trailer tongue is more parallel (if it isn't already)?

It's a road master dolly! I think I will try to get a hitch with an 8 inch drop, that should do it?
Thanks for the suggestions

If your dolly is uneven, a hitch won't fix the issue. Is the other ramp almost touching the ground too?

The other ramp is very close to the ground, but does not scrape

What kind of car? We have a Jeep Cherokee and the ramp is probably 4-5 inches off the ground with the car on the dolly. They are pretty even though. I'd say you are right thinking a receiver with a different drop would solve the problem if the ramps were even, but the unevenness between the two ramps doesn't seem right. Receivers are fairly cheap so give it a try and see what happens.

On your Roadmaster (I have the 2000-1 version) the manual states that when towing the top of your hitch ball should be 18" from ground level, plus/minus 1 inch. Check this when aired-up if you have air bags, and get the appropriate drop hitch.

What you are describing with the ramps does not match my experience. Either your hitch height is off or the dolly bed is not locking into the loaded position.

Incorrect hitch height or bent ramp.
