Car towing

Hello,

Please share your experience on towing a car.

I have a 2015 class c Winnie view and am looking into a tow car.

I have a 2015 Honda accord automatic, which I bought before the RV. I am now finding out it cannot be towed with my blue ox system I had with my old coach.

Are there modifications possibke to use this Honda as I don't really want to loose a lot of money trading the car in with only 2000 miles.

Thanks for any help,
Blueseal

I don't think the "Blue Ox system" has anything to do with it, but Honda will not warranty any transmission damage if the Accord is towed. However, it could be towed on a dolly (front wheels off the ground).

Double check your honda to see if it can be towed 4 down. Many earlier Honda's can be towed, but you need to adhere to a pre-tow sequence.

On my 2001 Civic, I start the engine, put it into each gear for 10 seconds, the final sequence is to move it from "D" to "N". run it for 30 seconds, then shut the engine off (leaving it in "N".

It won't do MACH 2, but I can get a sandwich and take a pee.

A tow dolly would make it towable without any modifications required to the car.

Using the Remco transmission lube pump will definitely void the new car warranty (and maybe not just on the transmission). If you want to keep your Accord, a tow dolly is the way to go. They can sometimes be a PITA, but the only other choice you have is a car trailer and that's even a bigger PITA.

Good luck

Must be towed on a tow dolly. Please confirm in owner's manual.
