Car trailer manufacturer suggestions. Towing a Tesla model 3. Video attached
Hey all. On the final stretch to configuring a Tesla model 3 for next year. We are in the get informed phase of which car haulers are good, bad etc. We saw a model S go by on the interstate being pulled by a Country Coach. Not interested in an enclosed trailer. Car comes in around 4000 pounds...ish. Would be interested in opinions on car trailers.
Unbeknownst to me Angela was taking a video of a test drive we took in the model 3. Lotsa fun. Heres a video.

I have an Aluma brand trailer, all aluminum with torsion axles. Love it.

The Tesla is cool but car trailers are not. Nowhere to put them at most destinations, and I want maximum flexibility in where I can go. So, as much as I would like greater flexibility in choice of vehicles, four-down towing is the only way for me.

I have towed a car trailer behind my class c for 89000 miles from here to As, Do, Iowa, etc. Only 1 CG in all the places we camped did I have to drop the trailer. I'm 52 ft long overall and have fit in pull through and back in slots. I don't know about every CG in the country, but all we have started in, we fit. That also includes in and out of gas stations and parking lots. This is in 6 years and we are out on average 2 weeks a month.

Thanks for the reply. I don’t suppose you have a picture with your car on it. I’m concerned about entry angle etc.
We are used to pulling our toad on a trailer. We dislike pulling four down. To each his own.

Wow. You're either very lucky or a real good planner. Most places I go you could never get into with a car trailer even if they allowed them.
Just curious, where's As and Do? I know where Iowa is.

We currently tow our lecttic smart car on a trailer. Over 140,000 and not been rejected. But then again it’s small and mostly slides under the back of the coach like a dolly. A Tesla mofel 3 is going to need a 14 footer.

Darn spell checks.AZ, FL, all over the east coast. At the International Rally had to drop for two of them and a CG in FL twice. I don't consider it luck at all. Even a SP we stayed in didn't have to drop. Total length is only 7 ft longer then a lot of fivers.

Heres our current set up. This trailer won't work for a model 3. .

In my 14+ years pulling a trailer I only had to remove the trailer once also. Proper planning is the key.

I use an aluminum trailer from Trailex https://www.trailex.com/products/pc/home.asp
Good quality. Nicely engineered, they have their own extrusion plant to make all their 6061 alloy frames and decking. The fenders are bent extruded deck material, not thin aluminum sheet.
