Car Weight

All this talk today about towing makes me wonder if any of you professors know where I can find the weight of an 2005 Kia Amanti.
I have a good one and because of the current heart attack economy I want to know if I can tow it, 4 down or dolly, with my '99 Pace Arrow.??
I'm sure there will have to be mods to the car but it's paid for.

Larry:

"cars.com" will give you all the data on the car, but not whether it can be flat towed. I know my 03 Kia Sedona needs a transmission lube pump, so it's a good bet your Amanti will, too. I think the Amanti has the same 3.5L V6 and 5-speed auto trans as the Sedona.

I was surprised how much the Sedona weighs (almost 4800 lb.). I also found out that since Kias aren't often made into toads, the availability of tow hardware isn't great and it's quite expensive. I figured it would take the best part of $3000 for the Sedona, but it's too heavy for the regular tow dollies and a dolly strong enough would push me over the 5000 lb. hitch limit on my rig.

$3K buys a lot of days from Enterprise!

Go to remco.com and you might find if you can tow 4 wheels down or not and what modifications may need to be made (i.e. lube pump,etc.).

Good to hear from you again.
I found a site after I made the post that said my Amanti weighed 3,770 lbs.
I found the same weight in two sites but all the verbage was the same so I think it may be copied.
Can't get Kia to respond to my requests yet.
Any way it's cut it is over my towing capacity. 3,500 lbs.

I would have it weighed just to be sure, had mine weighed at a locale dump, was no charge.
