Check your install!
I bought a '14 CR-V from another member here. Was set up by a shop in LasVegas. They put the BrakeMaster outlet right beside the parking brake peddle and it was in the way and getting knocked off.
Took it apart to replace the air line with a longer one to move the connection under the seat and found that the installer had left out the little brass fitting that keeps the ferrule from crushing the plastic tubing. The instructions warn that it won't seal if the brass insert is left out. Now I'm going to go through the whole Brakemaster setup and look for more missing pieces. Luckily I live about 15 miles from RoadMaster so I drove over yesterday and bought 10 of the brass inserts at a cost of 90¢ each. Just another example of why I do most of my own work even though I'm 70.

Mr.D, I agree fully but what about those people that do not have the physical ability or knowledge to do do their own work or even check the work of others?
They just head down the road trusting that all is well. Scary thought.

Exactly the case with the previous owner of the CR-V, he didn't know what he didn't know and assumed the shop did the install correctly. Now I'm wondering if they did the bracket install correctly?
I redid the wiring too and added a relay as the brake lights override the turn signal otherwise. Neither the shop nor he knew to add the relay to stop that from happening.

Whenever I wonder why i take the time to do my own work, I see something like this and it reminds me : Oh yea, that's why.... :-)
both that, and the fact that I'm too cheap to pay some else to do something that I can do.

no surprise. i bet most people don't know. the universal harness kit with 4 diodes does not have relays. people install whatever come in the kit.

If the line is crushed will the system not work? I have a RviBrake so am not familiar with the Roadmaster.
I ask because I am sure there is commentary in the manual to test the system to make sure the toad brakes are in fact working.
We can blame the installer but we as drivers also need to test our systems regularly if not every time we head out.
Thanks for bringing up the warning.

The line will leak if the brass insert isn't installed, as will the joint if overtightened even with the brass insert in place. Normally a leak isn't much of a problem but if they all leak and the breakaway is activated the air might leak out too soon.
