Cherokee won't recognize FOB

Every time after towing my Jeep it will not recognize the FOB. I have changed the batteries, and tried both FOBs. It doesn't seem to matter if I turn on the EPS kit or not. The dealer could not fine anything.

Anyone else have this problem?

Ron

If your Jeep Cherokee is newer than a 2012, press the start button with the fob while pushing on the brake pedal.

If it's an older than 2012 model, you'll need to pry the start button out of the dash using either a key or pen knife to remove the cover of the start button. You'll see a rectangular slot that the end of the key fob will fit. Pressing the brake pedal, use the fob like a key to start the vehicle.

Took it to the dealer, and they ordered new FOBs, so will see when I get them.

I have to ask, are you holding the FOB in your hand or is it in your pocket? The other part of this question is, if it's in your pocket is your cell phone in or near that same pocket as your FOB?
Now I ask because your phone will interfere with the signal from the FOB to the car. I have experienced this on several occasions when I leave the car running but step out to enter the code in the storage gate and then get back in and the car states the FOB has left the car and will not clear without having to shut the car off and restart it.
Hopefully your problem is this simple.

The only way it will start is if I hold the FOB on the start button. The dealer ordered two new FOBs, but they did not work either. Next week I have to leave it at the dealer all day, and they are going to get with Jeep and go through it to see what is going on.
