Chev Truck Electric Power Steering

https://www.searchautoparts.com/motorage/maintenance-repair/straightening-out-gm-electric-power-steering
I came across the above article on vehicles with EPS.. I gave it a quick read and I can sure see why GM wants you to disconnect a battery cable. This is a very complicated system with many power drawing controls. I would imagine that if one control still had power you could have lots of problems. On another note: Where do I find that long thread on towing the Colorado from a few years ago?? Thanks

Yep, that's why I bought a 2013 Silverado to tow, it is the last year for hyd power steering.
If the battery neg cable is not disconnected on vehicles with EPS, every time you cause the front wheels to turn when it's being towed, the electronics are confounded because the steering wheel is not turning in these steer-by-wire vehicles.
