If you haven't figured a way already, you might try what I did. I have a Saturn Vue, which is just like the Equinox. I ran my breakaway wiring alongside the hood latch release cable, from the inside firewall, into the engine compartment. I hooked the wiring to a straightened, wire clothes hanger and pushed/pulled it thru. Hope this helps.

Thanks to all for the help. Actualy I puled the flor mat up on the drivers side pushed the wire harnes through the park brake gromet and routed the wires on top of the frame to the front. Poked a hole through the mat under the drivers seat for the wires to connect to the Brakebuddy. Havent checked the power outlets yet and probably will continue useing my magnetic lights on the roof.

Just in case any one is having trouble with the Chevy Equinox 12v power outlet when you pull the fuse, the one in the back stays hot.
