Chevy Sonic / Fuse Master

A question for those towing a Chevy Sonic or similar that have also installed the Roadmaster Fuse Master switch.

Where did you have it mounted?

Thanks.

I tow a Sonic.

Does this switch eliminate the need to pull the fuse?

Yes. You pull the fuse, and insert the two lead wires into the fuse slot. On the other end is a switch. There is a fuse holder in the wiring that replaces the fuse you just pulled. The switch mounts through a one inch hole you drill "somewhere" and looking to see what others have done. I was thinking between the headlight/dash dimmer control and the steering column.

BTW you can get these at CW or Amazon

What does Roadmaster charge for it?

When I was setting up my Sonic, I knew Blue Ox made one, but they wanted about $100 for it. I figured I could put one together for a fraction of that. Just have'nt gotten around to it.

CW, Amazon, eBay are all about in the $65-$85 range with differences in shipping, taxes, etc. It does seem like there no more than a couple of bucks worth of parts.

This is how I set mine up a couple of years ago. That's the fuse panel cover that it's mounted on. Can always replace the cover if you want to undo. Not sure why this site insists on rotating the image.

Fuse holder http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o09_s00

Toggle switch http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o02_s00

Total cost to me was around $20. Prices went up a little since then.

Well got the Fusemaster today and installed in the same place as above. Simple to do and a lot better than pulling a fuse. Thanks for the replies.
