I bought a 2010 Sebring hoping to use my tow dolly. The steering wheel does not lock. Has anyone used a tow dolly with a Sebring? If so any problems.

If you are using a tow dolly, I would not expect that locking steering wheels would be essential. The straps on the tow dolly will hold the wheels already unless I'm mistaken.

I made a test run today. It will not work. If turning a sharp corner the car will hit the fenders on the tow dolly. Also a mechanic told me the turning without the power steering pump will cause damage

I have a Sebring and I would not tow the vehicle unless all four tires were off the groung. For the main reason that the car is to low to the ground will grind when you leave gas stations, or any parking lot. Just not a good car to tow.

I have towed a 2006 Sebring 8000 miles using a dolly. The dolly manufacturer (Acme) recommends the steering be unlocked.
I have not experienced any difficulty with this setup other then the obvious "avoid if possible" steep ramps at gas stations when the RV will scrape it's hind end. I do my best at exiting at the sharpest angle possible which does minimize the scraping.

Thanks for your info. Have you had any seen any damage to the power steering? I looked up the web site for Acme and will contact them tomorrow.

Why would this be any more of an issue while being towed 4 down, than while being driven?

I have not had any issues with the car resulting from the use of a tow dolly. The Acme dolly has worked well and has disk brakes as standard. I have also found the owner of the company - Richard - excellent to deal with. Acme claims to have the lowest load height of any dolly.

We have an 04' Sebring which is loaded onto a Demco Kar Kaddy SS with surge brakes. Nearly 8000 miles and no problems. The steering wheel is locked when traveling & haven't experienced any power steering issues. Situational awareness will help keep you out of tough spots & steep driveways. (although I have had to disconnect the dolly/car twice). IMHO if you maintain it you'll be fine.
