Chryslers wiring harness for 2014 Rubicon

Well I'm fixing my n23 recall issue by trading it in for a 2014 jeep unlimited Rubicon. Was going to try and get the dealer to throw in mopars towing harness but read somewhere that it won't work on the 2014s . My aux brake will be pushing on the brake pedal so I don't want any electrical feed back. Those out there with 2014 what do you use?

Either use a wiring kit with separate bulbs or a diode setup. Nothing special about a 2014 Rubicon in that respect. Cooltech makes a wiring harness that seems popular.

Do some research on transmission problems with 13 and 14's. You can look on JeepForum, JKForum, etc. The issue is that intermittently when selecting reverse or drive the trans will not engage. The problem reportedly is an internal sticking piston. Mine (see sig) is currently at dealer for new transmission (13,000 miles). A friend with about 1600 miles on new 14 has same issue. I doubt Chrysler will acknowledge a problem exists (standard industry response). But, if you can get an acknowledgement then perhaps you can get a VIN specific "problem solved" answer. Good luck.......the JKUR is a fantastic machine.

Well, I have had zero problems with my 2012 JKUR. I chose the Blue Ox drill in lights and they are very easy. Bypassed everything on the Jeep altogether and I ran the wires through the interior (it gets messy in the winter around here, and I Jeep....a lot!) and then have a plug on the front. Easy.

I use the Mopar harness on my 2014 JK, and use the ready Brute Elite towbar with surge brakes. It works for me. Some abnormalities that I did not expect. For instance the third (high) brake light is only triggered by the surge brake action. For running lights the front fender side markers do not light. The install instructions need updating from 07 to reflect, a larger grommet (1 3/8"), an extra bolt required to take off the fender, the mounting of a wire harness connections are on the side not under the glove box, and the engine side of the firewall has a bracket with more wiring connectors where you need to go through the firewall. Other than that the harness works.
Might you have read the harness does not work if you do not supply it 12volt power from the MH?

jeepfreak ... actually it does work. I used it and also a BrakeBuddy brake system without any issues. Here is a link to my install experience.
