Class A towing trailer
Howdy all,
I would like to get some input on what some of you do (as far as sequence of events) who tow a vehicle on a trailer or dolly when you pull into a campground or park.
I have just purchased a car hauler to tow my suburban on and am walking myself through the process mentally, but want to see what others do to make sure I am not missing anything.
I plan on finding a place to unload the suburban, unhook the trailer from MH and hook up to suburban, park MH in site, then return to park the trailer in the appropriate parking area prior to returning to the site with the suburban.
I know it is easier to flat tow(I have a 4wd suburban), but I didn't want to be limited to ONLY towing that suburban.
Okay, let's hear what you do...
Thanks!
Josh

You have the plan , just have to include ; phone ahead ; to see if extra parking is available , and if any cost is involved. Because some parks ; even with 65>70 ft. sites will charge if you can't get everything into the one site.

Your plan is perfect. We added a hitch to our toad just for the event where our dolly had to be removed due to the length of the RV park spot.
We unload the toad in a quiet area away from traffic because we found that too often, someone needed to drive down the row behind our spot exactly at the moment we were trying to unload.
Your car carrier will need a spot of it's own most usually, where as a dolly can fit under most RV nose or tail sections at the site if allowed, so parking will be on your list of questions for the park staff.
Safe travels

I have been towing a 16' trailer behing my MH for the last 9 years and about 50,000 miles. Total length 57'. In that time I have only had to disconnect the trailer a couple of times but I always called ahead to reserve a long pull through site. When there wasn't enough room for the trailer and car at the site I just parked the car on the trailer.
How much does that Suburban weigh?
