Cool Tech Jeep writing harness

I have installed this harness on my 2019 Wrangler. When I hooked the Jeep up to my 2004 Monaco Windsor all lights worked except the brake lights did not light when the MH brake pedal was pushed. I am now 2000 miles from my Jeep and it dawned on me that maybe the Cooltech harness operates the brake lights from the Jeep pedal. Can anyone tell me if when the switch in the toad is in the tow position will the brake lights come on if the Jeep brake pedal is depressed? TIA.

Yes they do
I use a Roadmaster 9000 series pneumatic brake. When I push the brake in the motorhome it activates the cylinder which pushes my Jeeps brake pedal.

I just installed separate bulbs in my rear lights for turn/flash signal and the brake is on/off when the Jeep brake pedal is pushed.

Only thing to be aware of is that it does drain the battery. I towed the Jeep 4 days without starting and the battery was down, would start the jeep.

While this is what I did in my JKs, this obviously is only tangently relevant to what you (and I) have done to the JL.

Yes, your brake lights should work when the brakes are applied in the coach. Your theory may be correct, the brake lights may be activated only when the Jeep brakes are actually applied by whatever supplimental brake system you are using. I base this on the Cooltech installation instructions that have you testing/checking the turn signals and tail lights, nothing about brake lights.

Give me a week or so and I should be able to confirm. I just finished my toad equipment install and haven't tested them yet.

I realize this is not a Wrangler, but my Grand Cherokee brake lights do not work when pressing the brake pedal if the ignition key is off. Only when the system is powered up will the brake lamps work with pedal activation. I suspect the Warnglers are the same way.

I made my own harness similar to theirs.
If the one you have entails cutting the brake wires under the passenger side door sill, then it's the same as mine.
With that said, if your lights don't operate properly, it is possible you used/cut the wrong wires?
There are a few that are very similar in color.
But to answer your question, when the switch is in one position it is RV power to the lights, and in the other position it is from the jeep. So no way no how will the lights work when the switch is in the opposite position.
Hope this helps.

I agree with this 100%
If you get in the jeep and the brakes work when the switch is in rv then you have cut the wrong wire. I would test the back of the coach and make sure you have a signal at the plug.
good luck
