Our PT GT Conv. is a stick. We turn the key to the position just before start, all the dash idiot lights come on. Then turn the key back one (1) notch, and the lights go out.

When we first started towing, I would turn the steering wheel 3/4 of a turn to be sure the wheel was unlocked.

Then triple check.

We had to add a 6" drop receiver to get the tow bar level.

Good luck. I would get a shield for the toad to keep rocks off. We use Protect-a-Tow. http://protectatow.tripod.com/

We live out in our old van. Travel all across this land. Drive until the city lights dissolve into a country sky, me and you - hand in hand.

I agree with Rom and Patty. I tow a 2003 PT Cruiser, stick, Touring Edition. I have towed behind a Winnebago Brave and a Winnebago Journey. I do not need a drop hitch for either motorhome.
