I've towed a CRV for 6 years and 55K miles. It is an AWD. I've got a non-binding tow bar and the M&G Engineering breaking system. Take 5 minutes to set up and ready to go. We have a routine we always use when hooking up. Forgot to once early on and wound up towing it for 130 miles with the e-break set. oops.

We are on our 2nd CRV. HAD A 2007 and now a 2011.
Just read the manual. Tow 4 wheel down. Fwd. or awd.

The CRV is either built in the USA or Canada therefore the profit goes to either countries economy not Japan. The CRV is better built and is a fantastic toad ( mine is a 2012). I was apprehensive because I bought the ist Honda in 1965 and it was a gorgeous car but a disaster.
I have always had Toyotas since my lemon Volvos but now they have slipped in quality and have a "snotty" attitude about what they will sell you so we took the leap and bought the CRV. We are extremely happy - tows well, easy to get in and out of and lots of space for the flee market "stuff" that we always seem to need.
Our friend has the fanciest model of the Jeep and it is more uncomfortable, poorly built etc.
Its the CRV for me - 2012 and up.

We love our 2WD CR-V, we purchased it last year and tow with a Blue Ox 10K tow bar and Air Force One brake system. We are full time and the CR-V serves us well when, as we have room for friends to ride with us for dinner trips and other ventures. It rides great also.

any CRV can be towed 4 down and it is a great car. I would not take a Chrysler product if you gave it to me. Had one and will never again. Very poor reliability
