CRV - 2013 vs 2014
I was out looking at CRVs today and found two at a local honda dealer that I liked. One was a 2013, the other a 2014. Both were EXLs ( leather, heated seats, sunroof etc). Both were nice colors. Both seemed to be similar very clean shape. The only noticeable difference in condition was the 2013 had a small brownish stain on the driver's seat, the 2014 had a small dent in the hood with a tiny bit of rust showing (very cosmetic, no evidence of a collision in any way). The big difference was the 2013 was $21,200 with 26,000 miles and the 2014 was $24,300 with 6,700 miles. So basically $3,000 buys me 20,000 less miles.
Honda is like CarMax with a "no haggle" price, so they won't even discuss price. They did give me a very generous cash or trade price on my 2009 Murano with almost 90K miles on it.
This should be a no-brainer right? Go for the newer car all other things being equal. Both are towable with 5-Speed autos as opposed to the new CVTs.
Are there any significant differences between the 2014 and 2015 you all can tell me about that would be worth considering?

The biggest difference is the 2015 is not towable.

What does that have to do with my question?

Perhaps you worded your question with the wrong year?? Thought you were looking at a 13 vs 14, but you asked about a 14 vs a 15...

CRV - 2013 vs 2014
Edmunds' review says that the 2014 was carried over unchanged from 2013, which carried over unchanged from 2012. I bought a 2012.

Do you have to do anything special to the car to tow it? Ex: Transmission etc.
Thanks

Only the AWD model can be flat-towed. Per the manual, you start it, shift through all of the gears then to neutral, idle 3 minutes in neutral, shut off, leave the key in the accessory position, release parking brake, and tow. There is a fuse to remove to prevent running the battery down, or you can install a switch in its place for towing.

The DW and I were also looking for a 2014 this past weekend and found a 2014 EX-L AWD with 8k miles. Could not agree on a price, so didn't buy. Looking to upgrade our current tow; does anyone know what they weight.
Since the 2015s can't be towed because of the CVT transmission, assume the 2016s will be the same. The 2016s come out the middle of November and I suspect we'll see a price drop on the 2014s since they will now become 2 years old?

According to the Motorhome Dingy Towing guide both 2-wheel drive and All Wheel Drive can be flat towed.

I just downloaded the owners manual. I think you misinterpreted the note about AWD models. What they are saying is that you must tow the AWD model 4 wheels down. If you use a dolly with the front wheels up you would damage the transmission.

You can download the owners manual here. They provide pretty clear info about towing behind a motorhome. No pumps or other auxiliary equipment needed for the tranny

Follow up - Went with the 2014. Bye bye Murano. Now to pick out tow bars and braking systems.
I still have the EZ tow dolly and I noticed a couple of things. First, the tires a a bit smaller on the CRV so it might be a bit easier to get the wheel straps on. Second, there are two nice tow hooks under the CRV and I'm betting it might be easier to get the safety chains connected. I had to get down on the ground and wrap the chains around the frame, which was a bit of a pain and I was always scraping my hands up. Who knows? Maybe I won't bother with the Blue Ox and stuff.
