Dang! Thought I had a new toad!!

Been looking for a month for an affordable replacement for the Miata we've been towing since November. Figured it was going to be a CRV, a Grand Vitara or maybe a Saturn Vue. I test drove a one owner, 87,000 mile 2003 Vue V6 this morning at a local Toyota dealership. They just got it in on trade. Immaculate. Went for a test drive and decided to buy it but had to confirm a 2 things. How much does it weigh and review the manual to confirm procedure for flat towing!!

Wouldn't you know....can't flat tow it. I guess it's only model year 2004 and up for the Vue! Pretty bummed about it! Oh well...guess we press on!

The bright side of this is that you didn't buy it only to find out afterwards. 😀

Bill I thought it should be towable also so I went to the FMCA tow guide and it shows the 2003 vue towable and 3179 lb. go get that toad might be able to beat them down a little more.
I tried to cut and past but no go.

Interesting about FMCA...but the reality is that etrailer.com does not offer tow plates for the 03 Vue V6 and states that the AWD V6 2003 Vue is not towable 4 down. But I am glad I determined that before buying the car.
