Demco: Great Service
With all the problems in the Motor Home industry, I can report a major effort and result from Demco to solve my problems with their tow bars.
I have used Roadmaster stuff since 2000 with great success, but in 2014 my falcon tow bar failed (thatís another story). I decided to replace it with a Demco Commander Tow bar because of price and no bad reports.
The Demco product is very well made with several unique features. They also have clevis connections (the fitting from the tow bar to the base plate) for major base plates, including the Roadmaster.
The tow bar arrived and all went well until I tried to unhook. Then pin binding of the worst kind, not once, but every time. You can imagine my dismay Ė all that money and I canít unhook the damned thing!
Initial calls to Demco customer service didnít solve the problem, and I finally talked to the executive vice president of Demco. After several exchanges of phone calls, he suggested that he send a Demco specialist to my MH and resolve the problem. I agreed, and in due time he arrived.
I got a full lecture about proper procedures to hook and unhook toads. Then we took a test drive using all the procedures I was lectured about. The hooking up and disconnecting went perfectly as the specialist predicted. Then he left for his other business.
Now, after several trips, hooking up and disconnecting, I can report that this is the easiest system to work with that I have ever used.
I can only say that the Demco system performs great when the instructions are followed. I must take my hat off to Demco for spending the money and effort to satisfy just one customer.
The instructions have been omitted to keep this post short, but if desired, I can provide them.
