Demco Tow Bars

In February, I wrote about the great service and attention I received from Demco in a thread titled “Binding Hitch Pins.” The conclusion of that thread described how I was, and still am, very impressed with Demco. They sent a representative several hundred miles to my location and solved all my issues. After several thousand miles and many connections and disconnections there have been zero problems. In fact, there are some Demco features not found in other tow bars that are very interesting. This is not to suggest that there is anything wrong with the tow bars from the other major tow bar manufacturers. It is just that some unique features of the Demco are very nice.

1. Each tow bar arm is independent of the other. That means that you can connect one arm without disturbing the other. In like manner, you can disconnect one arm and store it before you need to touch the other bar. This makes for the easiest and fasted connecting and disconnecting I have ever done.

When hooking up, I general approach the tow bars from the driver side. I un-store the passenger side tow bar and connect it to the Toad. Then I connect the safety cable for that tow bar. Next, I step back to the driver’s side and do the same thing on that side. No stepping over any tow bar is required.

2. There is a fixture on one tow bar to store the electrical umbilical cord – very nice.

3. The tow bars can be stored in any of three positions – both arms to the left or right – one to the left and one on the right. That all makes it very convenient.

I highly recommend the Demco tow bars.

Good Luck!
Wil

I like mine, it is the original Excalibar. It has provided many years of service.
