Dingy Brake electrical hookup wiring ?

We just got the Jeep setup for towing
Behind our class A 37' Itasca but
We have a question. ?

Jeep says we need to unhook negative cable

the tow equipment mfg says no leave it Alone.

We have to leave key in the Ignition for tow to work. But engine off

We have power from RV to dingy
Via cord

Since Jeep has auto transmission
And transfer case ( disconnected )
During tow

Also Jeep has power steering
Which is fed power from electric
Battery or charge wire from RV

Question
Why would we need battery hooked
Up and record milage via electrical
Cord ??

Why not disconnect battery
per Jeep instruction and not worry about a Dead jeep battery ??

Any comments or electrical knowledge is requested ?

What brake assist system do you have? The reason for the cable being off on the Jeep is to prevent dead battery. If you have a charge line on the ambilical cord, then you have over come this problem. Some brake assist systems will require a battery supply in the toad and replinish voltage via a charge line.

We have a 2014 Jeep Trailhawk (electric steering & automatic).
We DO NOT disconnect the battery, and we have pushbutton start, so there is no key to be left in the ignition.
Are you getting your info from the manual or a technician?
DO NOT disconnect your battery in the toad.
You need this battery to provide power to invisibrake if the breakaway switch activates (now the Coach is disconnected).
the Invisabrake has a pump which needs a fair amount of current, but only runs intermittently (when you apply your brakes). So basically the Invisabrake runs off the car battery, and the coach recharges the car battery.

What year is your jeep? Do you have LED tail lights?

We have 2011 Jeep

It is a liberty and has a pin which locks steering unless we leave key
In and partly turned on

No LED lights either

Obviously the steering needs to be unlocked. And you will want the toad battery connected at all times to support the breakaway function. The EZ wire harness from Blue Ox looks to be a good choice and fairly easy to install. Maybe someone else with your model can comment on having room in the housing for additional bulbs. You need to be sure that when adding a extra bulb, that it does not touch any plastic, because it will melt the plastic. Blocking diodes are also a easy choice.
