2013 Bay Star 2901 with 2013 CRV. About ready purchase Roadmaster All-Terrain with invisiBrake. Any reason I cannot do this myself or should I have it installed by a professional? Is Camping World a good option?

Doesn't Roadmaster have service centers.
Would think if you had questions they would answer them they will be warranting the hitch.

All depends on your skills. Take a look at the directions and see if it is something you can do, and have the time to do it. I'm in the process of setting up our 2009 Honda CRV, and I've performed all the work myself. It wasn't easy, but I did succeed in installing the base plate, and wiring for the toad lighting. Next on the list is the M&G braking system.

Shoot, if I can do it almost anybody can do it! BUT everyone must decide for themselves.

Andy..you can do it yourself, but depending on the vehicle it can get pretty complicated. There can be considerable dis-assembly to install the base plate. Some TOADS are a snap to do. Good luck.

I dont think Camping World would be a option for me, I have installed 15 over the years for myself and friends, not hard especially with Roadmaster or Blue Ox you can down load the instructions from Roadmaster to see whats involved but not sure if Blue Ox has that or not.

This is what my 2013 CRV looked like just before removing the "inner bumper" that is replaced with the Roadmaster Tow Plate Reciever...

It's a lot of VERY TRICKY disassembly involving some VERY BLIND (hidden) fasteners!! For me... How much and when can you start?

I appreciate the input from all. Looks to me that if I was just a few years younger and had the skill set this would not be a problem but I do believe it is not going to be a diy project after all.

As to Camping World, I let them do it all. It was not cheap (I think it was about $2200), because I bought the whole assembly from them. However, I have been very satisfied with their work and have had no problems.
