Does anyone tow a late model Volkwagen?

I know VWs aren't "officially" listed as towable, but Roadmaster makes brackets for many of these. Any of you towing one and what's your experience?

I tow a 2000 TDI Beetle 5 speed manual, not exactly 'late model' but it works for us. Here's a thread about a fellow successfully towing a TDI Jetta Sport Wagon 6 speed manual:

I've talked with multiple owners of late-model manual transmission VWs who tow, and all report no problems. One owner had towed a Golf for 4 years, then replaced it with a Jetta Sportwagen TDI. My problem was that I had an automatic transmission in my Passat.
