Does Falcon 5250 base plate damage 2011 Acadia fascia?

Got a Falcon 5250 tow bar with the purchase of my motorhome. Was reading on Falcon's website that the base plate may require altering the fascia on the front of the Acadia and would like to avoid this. Does anyone else use this set up and what mods needed to be done to the front of your Acadia? Thanks.

I have Blue Ox base on my Acadia, and it requires cutting a slot in the lower fascia, the part that is sort of a mesh (at least on my '07). I don't know any way to avoid it - there has to be a way to attach the tow bar to the car.

Here is what mine looks like.
