dual hitch receiver

Hello everyone,

I need a dual hitch reviewer so I can use a bike rack while towing my toad. I need a straight extension with the second hitch mounted on top.

I have seen a bunch of these online however the problem is the max tow capacity is 4,000 lbs. Roadmaster has a 6,000 lb version but only has a drop hitch, not a straight for the primary hitch.

Anyone know if any such product with a higher tow capacity?

One other thought but not sure if this could work. If I purchase a straight extension from Roadmast (6,000 lb) and have an additional hitch welded on by a weld shop. Do you think this could work? Not sure if welding lowers the tow capacity.

Consider Googling "dual hitch receiver adapter" there will be many choices.

Consider using a bike carrier like Blue Ox's which doesn't require a second hitch receiver.

Otherwise, a local hitch or welding shop should be able to make something for you. Welding a low capacity receiver on top of an existing straight extension shouldn't effect the capacity. If you do that, don't bring them someone else's product to modify. Let them make it up from scratch or start with one of their own.

The Blue Ox looks interesting. Bcooke the V rack looks interesting but I wonder if it would be sturdy enough. Flydiver, the Blue Ox looks good also. I would like to use the bike rack I already have as it appears to work best on my Jeep. It would be great if I could get it to adapt to my coach. Gary, I have looked all over for a dual hitch but none that have a straight run for the tow has more than a 4,000 lb capacity. I need a higher capacity.

Next week I will call some local weld shops and see what I can come up with.
