My new 2017 Edge is advertised by Ford as Base Curb Weight: 3912lbs FWD

I took some measurements on my existing drop receiver today and this one will match up very well. Here's the dimensions and specs of what I ordered on Amazon. I also ordered a 2" to 1-1/4" adapter that I will use in the upper receiver to mount the KarGard II on. That will raise the front of the KarGard II up above the exhaust pipe.

I spoke to Roadmaster about towing a dolly with this dual receiver. Their response was "not an issue if I am within the 400 lb tongue weight". I put my dolly on the lower and will eventually put a bike rack on the upper.

Careful of bike racks, not all are rated for RV use.

My bike rack isn't rated for RV use ( whatever that even means), been using it on RV for 8 years

Yes it cost more but its up to the job.
I have the 077-2. The only problem is getting the lever hooked on the tow dolly.
These are really heavy duty. I would get the next offset one if I could do it over. 077-4

Thanks for the offer Red, I had already ordered one. I paid $87 on Amazon for brand new and we're gonna put a lot of tow miles on our rig this summer, I wanted to start out with brand new stuff.

+1 on the RoadMaster. I read somewhere that using an extender half's the tow rating of the hitch. Don't know if that's true but I bet there is some kind of reduction.

I tow my Rav4 and up to 4 bikes on this setup (Thule hitch mount bike carrier). Only have about 4,000 miles with this setup but it hasn't given a moment's doubt.
