Thanks...I'm guessing that this was done while the tow plate was installed? If so, that also helps me in deciding in what order I get all my stuff together. I was thinking ordering the Blue Ox plate and tow bar this month and then the AFO and other "stuff" next. I'm thinking that I just need to get it all done at the same time now.

Since Deek couldn't post a photo , here's a link to SMI. There is a you tube video on installs. It's not for a CRV but may assist you. Also they are known for outstanding tech support if you should need to contact them.

Good luck.

SMI Air Force 1 is my third and final toad brake system. After 60,000 miles on three different toad vehicles, I would never consider any other brake system. The product is excellent and the customer service is great.

Sky_Boss

I have been posting the same question for my 2012 CRV and can't find a convenient location to mount the AFO. Called SMI last week for the video and while watching the install, it was done in Ocala Fl. at the Hitching post which is only about an hour away from me. Called them, got the best price of anyone and within the next 2 weeks, they will be installing the Blue Ox base plate, wiring, Aventa tow bar, and SMI Air Force One. If you want, I'll take some picture during the installation and post the for you.

That would be great! I'm just getting ready to order all my stuff and after talking with DEEK and getting a feel for where it might be, I am suspecting that the best time to install it would be while the front parts are off for the base plate. Perhaps that will make it more clear.

THANKS!

Just got off the phone with the Hitching Post and scheduled my install for March 8th. They will complete the CRV portion with the Blue Ox base plate, wiring harness for the tail and brake lights and the SMI AFO install. I also asked for permission to take pictures during the install and they agreed. The coach portion of the AFO will be done later in March on our way back home from Williston Crossing. (They're just a few mile from each other.)

I beleive that Deek has a 2011 CR-V and since they were redesigned for the 12 & 13 models, your set up should be the same as mine.

Great! Since Deek has the 2012, we should be able to place ours out of the way. I'll post pictures in a couple of weeks.

The install photos were posted yesterday in the Newmar forum.
Here's a link.

I just ordered the AFO. Did you do your own installation? How long did it take you and did you experience any problems with fitting the box on your Toad? BTW what Toad are you pulling.
