Electric Car as a Toad???

Good Evening All,

I am still exploring my options for a toad and with the price of fuel, I am looking into an electric/gas hybrid as a toad.

I know that most be towed on a front wheel dolly or a full trailer but I am curious about your thoughts on re-charging the toad at the campgrounds.

Do you think that the post will accept and be safe for plugging this vehicle in? We all have concerns about te integrity of the voltage going through the post for our RV and now I will have to worry that the voltage will fry my new car??? And....what do you think that the campground will start charging to be able to re-charge my run-around vehicle?

I would love to combine my every-day vehicle with my RV toad but I am really worried about all the unknowns....

Please give me your thoughts on this...

Faith

When we take my mother with us, we pull our Prius on a tow dolly. Everything works great. I just tuck the tow dolly under the back end of the MH, we have room for 5 if needed. We have averaged over 45 mpg since it was new in 07 and only had normal maintenance on it. Since our is older you cannot plug it in but I believe the new ones can be plugged in or recharged by driving. If we did not want to take the motorcycle south for the winter this set up would be our choice.

Dean and Mary,

Thanks for the reply so soon... I noticed from your signature that you are motorcylclists... We also have that to deal with. Hubby has a Goldwing Trike, but due to health concerns, he has been unable to operate it for the past year. I would love to tow a trailer with a small car and the trike and at the same time obtain a license to operate the trike for him if we are out and he feels too fatigued to drive it back....

I have many wishes to make him happy and to help him feel like he can continue to particpate but honestly...I am feeling quite overwhelmed. He can rarely move without extreme pain but he insists that he wants to keep going in the RV. I want to keep going with him. and, will continue to RV with him and the puppies as long as I can. He gets so much pleasure and relaxes so much on the road....

Thanks to you all for your assistance.

Faith
