Enclosed Cargo Trailers

Forgive me if this has been addressed somewhere already but I've been searching the forums for an hour now with no luck. I need an enclosed 6'x12' v-nose tandem axle trailer to tow behind my 24-foot Class C.

I'm currently in the Baton Rouge, LA area. I've been seeing a lot of "factory direct" deals in South Georgia that seem to have good prices. I'd be willing to drive there to pick up my trailer but I don't know who's reputable and who's cutting corners or just building cheap crap.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I bought a 28ft Car Hauler and 6x12 single axle from Gator Tail (Ended up being made by Diamond Cargo) Both in south GA.

Standard construction typically is on dexter or lippert axles. Can be had with torsion or standard springs based on your needs. You can compare tons on Trailershopper.com

Both served me well. They are not going to be like a Haulmark or even a Stealth trailer but for the price they work. We towed that 28 footer with a heavy Isuzu Trooper for thousands of miles and it never missed a beat. The one thing you will want to do if you get a trailer with electric brakes is to check the wiring at each axle. Most from south GA will come with crimp on wire splices. I re-wired mine and added heat shrink on every connection.

Good luck.

Look in the Houston area, that's not far from you, that place is trailer heaven.

Thanks for the heads up about the wiring. I'll definitely keep an eye out for that.

I've seen others mention how important torsion axles are to reduce tire wear, etc. However, it seems that they add a pretty significant amount to the cost. Are they really worth the extra money if I'm going to be using the trailer a lot?
