I am parked next to a guy with a Smart car and an enclosed trailer. V nose trailer is 26' including the v nose. He has room for a motorcycle and scooter in the front or a Polaris Ranger up front with the smart car in the back. Trailer weights about 4500 lbs so he figures he was at 10,000 lbs loaded. Noticed the drag in the mountains. Otherwise not so much. Pulling with Dutch Star 300+ hp.

If I were going to pull a trailer with Smart Car and 4 bikes I would also get a trailer big enough for extra things you may want to take along down the road but haven't even thought about taking yet. You don't say what you will be pulling it with but I'm guessing you will have extra capacity available weight wise and that sooner or later you'll want to bring something along, maybe outdoor furniture or cooking equipment, that you would like to put in the trailer with the car and bikes. I made the mistake when I pulled a motorcycle in a trailer of getting a trailer just big enough for the motorcycle but not much else. It fit inside our garage which was great but everytime I wanted to bring something alone that I couldn't fit in the motorhome I was wishing the trailer was big enough for the motorcycle and what ever else I wanted to take along.

You have a 28 ft A gasser. I guess your capacity for towing is 5000 lbs, but maybe 3500?

Car plus bikes plus a few more things can add up quick.

Also, you live where doing hills could be quite regular. Just being patient on hills should work.
