Looking to install an Roadmaster EvenBrake on my 2012 Ford F150. The installation instructions have a Ford-specific section which calls for a diode in the brake wire connection. Scary stuff about what ma happen if not installed properly. Anyone flat towing a 4WD Ford product? Comments, suggestions?

I tow a Ford F150 4WD, but I use the Brake Buddy for the aux brakes. Can't help you on the diode install. What is the old saying " real men don't need directions"

I forgot to mention that I ran separate lights for tail/brake lights on the toad. I did not want to deal with existing and diodes.

The brake light connection isn't for actually operating any lights (I think). It seems to be required so that the remote status indicator in the RV can display the operation of the EvenBrake unit.

Might not be too hard to just do a temp setup and see how it works. I am concerned that I'll somehow mess up the electronic tranny systems.

I had to install that also for the brake buddy. Just found the COLD side (power runs thru it when pedal depressed) of the brake button (right close to pedal) and spliced in a wire I can connect to sending unit. This just lights up a light on my Moho dash to tell me the toad brakes are being applied.
