Even Brake parts needed???

A few months ago I purchased a used Even Brake system on Craigslist for a good price but before I had done much research. Now that its come time to hook the thing up, I've noticed that all I got is the actual braking "box" that sits inside the vehicle but none of the other parts. So I'm trying to order the missing parts, but want to confirm what all I need. To my understanding, I need: the breakaway switch, a breakaway harness, the transmitter, and the receiver. Am I right on this? Is there more that I need? Any additional advice or info other than don't fall for Craigslist deals?

If you Google the model of your Even Brake, you'll find a lot of documentation from Roadmaster about their various brake models. Yes, you've listed the parts that usually come with the system.

To test the box you have, sit it on the passenger side floor, plug it in, and take a drive around the block. Braking at various rates should make the brake pedal lever activate, so you can try different sensitivity settings. If it doesn't work at all, you'll have to decide if it can be repaired and whether to invest in the missing parts.

Mike, I just came across your post. You are right, you need to be careful when purchasing on Craigslist. You can get all the manuals you need at the Roadmaster website. Here is a link to the EvenBrake manual http://roadmasterinc.com/pdf/85-4593-06.pdf.

I have used an EB for 10 years and the only problem I find with it is installing and removing it every time I want to tow, other than that it is a great unit and RoadMaster really supports their products.

Very likely the break-away switch is generic and available for much less than the Roadmaster one.
