I have a Roadmaster Falcon 2 tow bar and the 1 arm sticks, I have tried silicon and WD 40. The last time it stuck we used a golfcart to open it. Any hints on lubricating? The WD 40 I probably should not used and stay with a dry lubricant

WD-40 is not a lubricate. Blue Ox recommends removing the rubber sleeve, cleaning the arm and applying a light coat of multipurpose grease.

A sticking Falcon2 arm may not be a problem that lubrication will solve. Roadmaster recommends periodic maintenance with silicone spray. I would try that and see if I could feel any binds while you manually extend and retract the arm (I'm assuming that it is the piston and not one of the joints.) Our Falcon2 arms slide easily in and out with just one hand and hardly any effort. If yours isn't, I'd call Roadmaster and see what they have to say.

I have the same problem with one arm not releasing, I called Road Master told me I need a release bar, 35 dollars.

Our Falcon 5250 towbar had rust scale build up inside the arms that caused the arms to be stubborn at times. Silicone helped. I finally took it all a part, scraped it clean, and reassembled it. That fixed it. Roadmaster has posted rebuild instructions, that I used.

The "release bar" tool is for pushing down the release button when the towbar is under load. It has nothing to do with sticking arms.

If the clean and lubricate described previously doesn't fix it, it is possible the arm is slightly bent and will have to be repalced.

I have one arm sticking too. I called the Service Guy and he told me that I had "Carbon Build Up." He then went on to tell me a very complicated method to clean our the square channel. I'm on the road, so have to live with it. I did clean out the latches with Brake Cleaner, which worked well. Not sure how to actually remove the rust inside the channel. Any ideas? Thanks.

WD 40 and other greases you do not want to use. I disassembled mine as per Roadmaster's instructions, cleaned them and used the recommended silicon lubricants and they have been good since.

I called Roadmaster and was told to use an elaborate method to clean the insides and use only silicone to lubricate. I cleaned the "latches" with aerosol brake cleaner which worked great.
