Final prep fit
Anybody see any issues or suggestions to this setup...
10 gauge wire with inline 20 amp fuse to coach battery ran to 6 pin on back of motorhome.
6 wire to front of car that goes to 4 wire connector then to Hopkins light wire kit.
10 gauge wire to inline 20 amp (down at bumber) fuse and connected to car battery
Roadmaster Falcon 5250 tow bars
Roadmaster Ford edge bracket
Most all new hardware and pins.
Roadmaster Even brake 9400 setup
Questions?
Which side of battery for charge cable?
Does it matter the fuse location on wire segment? Fuse by bumper or fuse by battery?

The fuses in the charge line protect the wire, so they should be as close to the battery positive terminals as is practical.

the charge line should have two fuses - one at the source side, if there is no fuse in place already; another at the end of the wire to the toad. both of them should be very close to the batteries.
i towed my fit for 3 years (sold it about two years ago). it's an easy tow as only as you follow the instructions. the charge line runs a very small current - when your toad battery is full to start with, the charge current carries no more than 1.5a at 12v nominal.

So I connected the ambilical cord between the two vehicles the 6 pin. I then connected the Hopkins wiring harness to the tail light connectors, fit for car, then out to to 4 pin. Then to 6 pin connector.
I turned on the coach in accessory mode and turn on turn signals and nothing. Both signals and break lights nothing on Ford edge. Worked on coach.
Possible issues:
No ground connected on Hopkins wiring on car as I just test fit it.
Something wrong with the wiring on the coach... Any way to test?

1) You need to attach the wire in the car's harness (usually white) to the car's ground. Otherwise, there's no return path for the current. A temporary, but solid, connection is enough to test.
2) You can check for signals at the coach connector and then the end of the umbilical with a test lamp or a voltmeter. Use the ground pin on the connector/umbilical for the lamp/voltmeter ground.

Ok so got it all wired and the is my current issue with the lighting... The relay is not working. Or so I think it is the relay.
I plug the car into motorhome. The turn signals work and when pressing the brake the lights work as should...
When the even brake presses the brake pedal the brake lights over ride and do not let the blinking turn indicator work.
Possible issues...
1. The fuse that I am getting power from to power the r/m even brake transmittet is not the tail light fuse inside the car.
2. There is another purple and white wire that is the bulb out indicator coming from the brake light switch that may have to wired into the relay as well...

don't know about your coach... on my coach, this is handled by the signal control board. i installed the toad signal lines which were straight lines, no relay or control modules. but mine does not have an override issue.
now you see the override on toad, does your coach also have an override?

All the below assumes that you have a solid ground (on the toad) for each of the toad components you added. If that is not the case, almost any odd behavior can occur.
First, remove/deactivate the relay circuit, as if the car is back to its original brake light wiring. Then, attach coach and toad through the umbilical. Put the hazard lights on in the coach. Step on the brake pedal in the toad. See if the brake signal overrides the hazard lights flashing.
If the braking system in the toad moves the brake pedal as your foot does, then the toad lights should be overidden (or not) in exactly the same way. If it doesn't, then there probably is a wiring problem, independent of the relay.
From there you can examine the relay wiring.

With your Vehicle you will also need a brake light relay to keep your car’s brake signal from overriding your signal from the RV. here is the one I used in my Ram: https://www.etrailer.com/Tow-Bar-Bra.../RM-88400.html
There is a video installing it in a Ford Edge in this link.

So I got it all hooked up and looks like I have no running lights on toad with running lights on at motorhome.... Then not sure if it is charging...
Charging: 10 gauge wire from positive side of mh chassis batteries to 20 amp inline fuse to bumper of motorhome. Through ambilical and to front of car. Then up to positive battery terminal with 20 amp inline fuse..
Even brake 9400 controller said .08 volts and after running went up to .12v
Chassis batteries while coach was running 13+v
Car battery while plugged in was 12v at terminals.
Running light delima I am not sure even if the tail lights come on as "running" lights while using as toad...

The "parking" lights on the toad should be lit when the "parking" lights on the coach are lit.
Check each pin at the coach hitch connector for the correct signal. Then work downstream from there.
