First time Toad

I am looking for a TOAD to tow behind my Class A 27 footer. I am looking at a 2004 Jeep Wrangler Rocky Mountain edition but don't know what I will need to get so I can tow 4 down. Owner said it has tow hooks but I don't think that will work. It does have a 3 inch lift kit with 33" tires. Will I need to change out the tires and stuff. Also where can I buy and have it installed. Sorry for so many questions.

The tow hooks won't work for sure! You need a tow system and base plates installed on your jeep. Blue ox and Roadmaster are well known brands. Most RV repair shops will be able to provide and install the required system. You should also consider a supplemental braking system for the jeep.

You need
1. A base plate for your Jeep
2. A tow bar including hitch receiver
3. Supplemental braking system
4. Wiring for tailights

You should get your base plate and towbar from the same company (Blue Ox or Roadmaster).

You can combine #'s 2 & 3 with a ReadBrute Elite. We used to have a Roadmaster towbar and a BrakeBuddy supplemental braking system, but changed to the ReadyBrute. This is a totally mechanical system and you have your choice of Blue Ox or Roadmaster base plate. We switched to a Blue Ox base plate on the new to us toad due to easier hookup vs the Roadmaster on our previous toad.

With equipment and installation, figure on $2,000 to $2,500.

I am assuming that you already made the calculations to ensure that towing the Jeep is within safe towing parameters for your Bay Star.

X2 - Would also say to your original question that you can leave the jeep lifted without an issue. Just ensure your tow bar is level by using the correct drop from the MH hitch. May have to use a reversed 3" drop hitch. Also, the jeep tow plate is not difficult to install yourself. Just have to remove the front skid plate under bumper to access holes. Wiring kits are also fairly simple plug and play affairs. Brake controllers are not difficult. Jeep Wranglers are one of the easiest Toads out there...
