Flat bed truck

What I'm thinking is to buy a small truck, put a 10 ft. flat bed on it and then load my Polaris rzr xp 900 on and tow behind my pace arrow.....problem is the 5000 lb weight restriction for towing. The Polaris is 1500 lb so the small pick up will have to be under 3500 lb. Has anybody done this and will the small truck handle 1500 lb ? Thanks

Most 1/2 tons don't have a 1500 lbs payload, so I'm sure you won't find anything smaller than 3/4 ton to safely handle that weight.
My 93 Dakota 4X4 had an 1850lbs payload rating, but the truck it's self was over 5000.
Also adding a 10ft deck & 1500 lbs, to any truck could throw the balance off to the point of making it untowable. JMHO.

thanks , that is really what I was thinking. I should have bought a dp for the extra towing capacity and then a 1 ton truck.

Not all DPs are created equal , some only have 5000 lbs TTC. You need to check everything before you buy.
