Flat Towing

I am in the process of setting up my Class A motorhome for towing, looking at the Falcon 2 Tow Bar. Anyone know much about these? Thank you!

I have used my Falcon-2 tow bar since 2004. Easy setup. No problems.

whatever roadmaster does, it does heavy duty. i have a towmaster 5000, it's solid but kinda over kill. although it works great, i'd like to have one staying at coach side. so my next one will be a falcon 2.

You might want to check with Roadmaster before making a purchase. The Falcon 2 is listed on their site as a "classic" towbar. I don't know if its still being manufactured. They may be selling off the remaining units in stock. There is now a Falcon "All Terrain" model.

The reason I say check with Roadmaster is that it may be a bar they are phasing out. If that happens there will only be support in the form of rebuilds and spare parts for a limited time. We purchased a Sterling model back in 2006. It has now been replaced by the Sterling All Terrain. When I needed parts last year I had to provide the serial number. Luckily since it was the final series of the Sterling parts were still available. If it had been a year older I would have been out of luck.

You probably won't need parts or service for several years to come. It would be a shame to have to replace it in a few years because parts are no longer available.

You can go to any rv rally and more than likely, Roadmaster will have a maintenance truck and crew there. They will take your tow bar and clean/refurbish for a parts only price. You can provide the tech with a tip if you wish. Most times, they will come to your rig and do it on the spot...if not, then you remove your tow bar and take it to their truck.
