Question Flat towing 1996 Bronco

Has anyone flat towed a 1996 Bronco? I plan to disconnect the rear driveshaft to make it free wheel. I like the Blue Ox set up with the BX2121 base plate for the truck. This is a short term plan until we get a Jeep.

Thanks

I wish I had a manual shift T-case! It has the electric shift. And neutral is not an option.

It'll be a PITA until we snag a Jeep, but it'll do!

With driveshaft disconnected you should be good. Front should freewheel due to hubs, and rear is just holding the Bronco up once driveshaft is not connected.

Another option would be to convert the rear axle to full floating hubs. You would then have turn in style hubs like in the front axle, just unlock all four hubs and go. Would cost some money but would allow you to still have a real vehicle. Any 4 x4 or off road shop could fix you up with this mod.
