Hey, I'm just stating what the owner's manual says to do...

Quote:
If the vehicle is equipped with Quadra-LiftTM air suspension, the engine should be started and left running for a minimum of 60 seconds (with all the doors closed) at least once every 24 hours. This process allows the air suspension to adjust the vehicle’s ride height to compensate for temperature effects.

Having installation done today first tow tonight. First Jeep for me. From what I read in owners manual after going through process of putting transfer case into neutral, ignition is in off position not accessory. Assuming (risking) steering must not be locked up in off position. Can anyone with new Grand Cherokee confirm.

Ditto. Ignition to OFF. Towed from Texas to Northern Michigan already. No issues.

We have the 2012 GC Overland and towed it to Alaska from Calif. the only miles registered was when we drove it. We also have the Blue Ox system (Towing & Brake) system and the only problem I have had is when you need to start the engine when all is hooked up. Solved that problem by using the auto start. It runs for about 10 mins and shut itself off. Just got to remember to unlock the vehicle before leaving, cause it will cause the vehicle alarm system to activate as you drive down the road.... DUH on my part. I have not had a problem with the vehicle battery going dead while towing the vehicle for over 2 years. I do not have a charge wire between the MH and Tow vehicle.

Do you have a third party or dealer addon alarm? None of our Jeeps, including the '14 JGC, have had any problem with an alarm when towing. Always with door locked.

What problem did you have starting the car when hooked up? I didn't notice anything unusual when I did it on our way north last week.

Is there any issue with having a keyless ignition?

Keyless is fine on the Grand Cherokee. You press the button without your foot on the break to get it into acc or run without starting the engine.
